The Horseshoe Crab Song
(to the tune of Middle Eastern song “Ya Doda Ya Khetyara”)
First came the Paleozoic Era
When horseshoe crabs evolved from trilobites and spiders, that lived on the ocean floor
Vegetation started coming and bees began to rise,
And giant insects started, flying through the skies
The there was a mass extinction and many species dies
But do not worry, the horseshoe crab survived
Then came the Mesozoic Era
When dinosaurs appeared
They roamed the Earth with power while other species cowered
Birds, bees, and butterflies flew up in the sky
But danger was around them some reptiles could fly.
Another mass extinction happened very soon
It took the dinosaurs to heirs doom
But do not worry the horseshoe crab survived
Then came the Cenozoic Era
When the Ice Age raged
Snow and sleet, as white as sheets
Covered everything you’d meet.
Then many years later, the ice began to thaw
There was hardly any cold left, really none at all.
After that misfortune met the horseshoe crab
And everything started to seem very bad
Because humans took over and made everything quite sober
They ate many crabs, and the rest were used as fishing bait
And selfishness soon became their most vibrant trait.
They build lots of factories, houses and buildings too
And Global Warming started to have an effect on you
If the world would get too hot
Death of the horseshoe crab would soon be sought
Sooooooooo…..will the horseshoe crab survive?
