The Life History of Horseshoe Crabs

Utilizes crisp footage of live Tachypleus tridentatus adults and juveniles (the latter raised through Ocean Park Foundation of Hong Kong’s rearing and release program) to highlight various activities vital to the life history of horseshoe crabs, including neat views of the molting process, feeding and mating. No narration, but includes Chinese and English subtitles.

This short clip follows legendary filmmaker David Attenborough on the beach in Delaware Bay with horseshoe crab (HSC) conservationist Glenn Gauvry observing and commenting on the spawning activities of the American HSC, and how it’s generalist approach to living contributes to its surviving through the ages.
